Burna Boy affirms that he was the first to pioneer Afro-Fusion He also hinting at an album that could be a collaboration with Polo G

In the event that Burna Boy was asked about the wild teens, he claims that it shaped him into the artist today.

On the 9th of October 2021 Grammy award-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy appeared on Home Grown Radio along with Chuck Dizzle and DJ Hed.

In the course of the discussion, Odogwu himself, who was one of the very first Nigerian artist to stage an arena show on the other side of the millennium, and who sold more than 17,000 tickets, discussed what he performed at Hollywood Bowl, pioneering Afro-fusion as well as receiving an Grammy in the category of Best World Music Album and more.

If Burna Boy was asked about the wild teens, he said that it helped him become the artist Burna Boy is today.

Then he continues, “My genre of music that I started is called Afro-Fusion; which is like a fusion of Afrobeats with… I feel like Afro-Fusion was only able to come out of me because I experienced all these sounds and genres.”

In an interview Burna Boy also clarified that his latest single “Want It All” featuring Polo G has a clean version. In the version that is clean Burna Boy says “Back in 2009 I was feeling very down …”

When DJ Hed requested that Burna Boy asks that which artist would he like to collaborate with The Grammy winner smiled brightly as did the woman who was not named on the other side.

With a playful smile, he says, “I don’t want to give you that… But you’re smart though.”

When DJ Hed tried to convince his Port Harcourt indigene regarding the possibility of a collaborative record in collaboration with Polo G, he says that “I don’t know. I don’t even speak English… [laughs].”

He then laughs, “So Polo G collab album coming soon.”

There is also talk of an upcoming Wizkid as well as Burna Boy collab album or EP on the way from Q4 of 2020.

However, on the official track, the singer sings, “Back in 09, I sold dope …”
